I'm new here and new to BMW. I just bought my first 2006 530xi. I want to replace my adaptive headlights with an aftermarket brand. Now that I'm having issues with my adaptive headlights I'm not to impressed with the design and the many issues I've read about. I wouldn't mind going with something that offers dual projectors like Spyder.

I'd like to know how the Idrive will recognize the new aftermarket headlights if they aren't adaptive? I don't want to put them in if I'm just going to get an adaptive headlight malfunction each time I start up the car.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

 

it will give u an adaptive headlight malfunction, u either code it off or do an lci headlight retofit
