Hey guys

I noticed that Active Autowerke offers a OBD2 style software upgrade for the e60's in particular for the I6 e60's, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this and also do any of our vendors carry active autowerke?

I dunno, but I would love to know too. This would be really cool. Also, it would be nice if they provided Dyno #'s to show the difference their software makes

I'm an Active Autowerke vendor. I can give them a shout and see what they say.

Alright here's the deal.

For $499 you will get the following:

10-12 hp
10 ft/tq
Speed Limiter Removed
Improved Throttle Response

Nice I would be interested if I don't have to send away my ECU to get flashed, if it as an OBD2 type system where I can plug something into my OBD2 reader to update the car and can redo it when the dealer flashes my ECU that would be great.

Unfortunately no it doesn't work like that.

Basically if they receive before 2pm, they'll overnight it back to you that day.

Does that mean you don't need the Sprint Booster? And why only 10-12 HP? Doesn't RPI claim something like 30HP gains?

Active makes a solid upgrade for the ECU. We have done their software for the E9X M3's and have had great feedback from customers. It does require that you send in the ECU but this allows Active to access more information than through the OBDII port. They can also customize the tune based on modifications you already have.

30 HP is a lot for a non-turbo car. From my experience, 10-12 HP is on par with chipped non-turbo'd cars.

The throttle response is more noticeable w/ a Sprint Booster so it's really up to you.
