Hi
Yes it can be done DIY , if you got standard part-electrical seat's one will have to run some ekstra wire's to each seat ( K-Can-Bus HIGH & LOW ) + you will have to change your door-modul's to version HIGH ( one in each door ) , and the car then also will have to be coded for the memory seat function , if one allready got the full electrical seat's with memory on the driver's seat ( not comfort-seat's ) it is "plug & play" and no coding of the car is needed.
For European members , try and take a look here :

The I-Drive controller in the armrest at the back , that I have retrofitted my self ( discribed in another tread , I-Drive controller is from a E90' serie's and altered to fit in the armrest of my E60 ).

cold weather package, premium package
It looks really good . You are rolling in style now. I really lke those comfort seats. Dont know about the Idrive knob in the rear, just something 'bout someone changing my radio station while I an Driving kinda like a back seat driver.........On the other hand if I was sitting around there THEN it would be cool, but I dont. But hey the car looks great
