Thumbs up

Okay so I took my ACS style trunk spoiler to the local body shop to paint it and they told me they would paint it, but wouldnt be responsible for putting it on, as they've had spoilers that dont screw into the body come off before.

So I went down to the BMW dealership and picked up some BetaLink and I plan to buy some 3M double sided tape and Ill just do it myself.

So I know there are many members on here that have this type of spoiler has anyone had an issue with one coming off?

Am I using the right stuff to put this on or is there something stronger then BetaLINK?

Any thoughts?

THX

Yup. Had it come off when using tape. Had the body shop heat and glue it on.

With 3M, make sure its "VHB". They glue building highrise panels/windows together with those rings. There is a specifc "adhesion temperature" meaning that it will adhere the best at specific temperatures. Pay attention to that and you should be fine. You can also try a "ghetto" way, basically to park your car in the sun for a bit, let window heat up, and slap it on

Yeah I saw that its like a $100 a 72' roll.......damn tape cost more then the spoiler, or the cost to paint it. Ill take a look at some stores before I buy a roll. Seem ashame to have to spend $100 for 72' roll when you need like 10' Maybe I can sell the other 62' on Ebay...

Thanks for your help

Send me 10' of that before you list it on eBay.

alot of painter in HK told me not to take it off cos it will nevery fit on like before again.
All of them say leave it on and paint it with it on the car.
When you repaint any kit that is not 1st time the chances are it will not fit like it did the 1st time cos the shape will deform abit.
