Has anyone ordered an ACS replica spoiler from Delsa Motorsports? I'm having serious problems with waves and ripples in the finish.

I didn't notice anything when it arrived aside from a minor scuffing on the corner during shipping. As a result, the body shop feathered the edge, recleared, buffed then installed using glue instead of the 3M double sided tape.

Body shop is pointing the finger at the manufacturer and viceversa. Has anyone had any similar issues with replica ACS rear spoilers or aftermarket spoilers in general?

Here's an Ebay Item number to take a look....300008098345

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is the manufacturer's fault. Your body shop is correct when they pointed the blame at Delsa. If you can, always buy OEM or original aftermarket parts. In this case, you should have bought the real ACS spoiler. As a rule, replicas are never as good as the original no matter what the manufacturer says.

Sorry to hear about your problems but it is part of the increased risk associated with replica hardware. When I asked my BMW bodyshop to install my ACS OEM roof and lip spoilers they were very concerned about fitment and quality before they worked on the job as they did not want to be blamed if it did not look good (i.e., avoid the back and forth you are experiencing). They opened the box in my presence, examined the surfaced and fit tested it on my car before they even applied paint. The adjuster told me they have been burned by bad results arising from quality issues and were careful to check before they lauched head first. Good luck.

This is exactly what my high end body shop said to me eventhough I kept telling them it's BMW OEM. I said it's guaranteed to fit, but they were still skeptical b/c they bad never installed an e60 M-Tech Aero kit before. Afterwards, they said that they wished all body kits were as easy to install as the e60 M-Tech.

That's the sore of quality problem you will face with replicas. Some good replica manufacturer is able to avoid this problem! I'm sorry to hear that yours experience this problem
