Nick without branches A5 or A6 connected somewhere your USB interface has no power. Pin 9 is 12+v and Pin 8 and 4 on the USB are the -ve.

It looks like the older version of the ACM module isn't going to be an easy install  ...Hope you guys figure it out! If this works, alot of people (especially me ) will be happy to add this option to their current setup...
or else, it's going to be extra $$$ to BMW for their newer version of the ACM....

Bruce, there is no branch A20 on the ACM harness - where would A5 or A6 from the USB harness get power from ?

Andy/Nick - That's what I said earlier too. But we're only after power so use Pin 17 (-) and 18 (+) on the ACM or pin 13 (+) and pin 26 (-) on the CAN interface for power. Even with the power I'm wondering how the interface is going to announce itself to the ACM to show up the new menu - can't believe BMW made this plug and play device detection.

Hi guys, I'm in Italy and this is my first post. I'm trying to install into my E87 (1 Series) this ACM with the USB interface. I think that the difference between the new ACM and the old one is in the Retrofit Cable; now there are A17,A18,A19,A20 new sockets for the connection of the USB Interface.
Sorry for my bad English.

Michele/Andy/Nick Are you able to post the pdf install of the new ACM so that we can look at the wiring diagram to see what the changes are between the old v1 and v2 ACM version compared to the current 3rd generation.
v1 and v2 only differed in the actual ACM and CAN interface units themselves, the wiring was exactly the same.

By your post I'm guessing still no joy even after connecting power.
