Unhappy

I took delivery of my E61 530d in mid-November, after it was imported from southern Germany in August. The car came with equipment that quite frankly, no one in Finland would have probably ordered at the time (2005).

Once I got the VIN from dealership selling the car, I discovered that it had some equipment that not even they knew about. Today, I found another surprise.

I was putting some receipts into the leather "book" containing the owner's manual, phone manual, service history, etc., and there was a small red envelope with the text "AC SCHNITZER Warranty Information" in three languages. I thought that this was rather interesting.

Next to that envelope was a bunch of paper work folded in half. I opened that up and found the, "Fitting Instructions for diesel performance upgrade E60/E61, part no.: 1214 10 345".

I made a quick call to the company that sells ACS stuff here, and sure enough, after opening the hood for the first time (oops) and being told where to look, I found the control module.

So, without even knowing it, I have upgraded my E61 to around 253 horsepowers and 550 torques.

Feel free to mock me... I deserve it!

Thanks!

Now, if we could just get rid of this snow, ice and slush, and I could get the 19s mounted, I might be able to find out what those free torques feel like!

Ok, I have an admission to make: in December, I was about to order the same ACS diesel performance upgrade...

Imagine how embarrassing it would have been to go the shop in Helsinki for the installation, and have them ask me, "Uh, why do you want another one of these modules?"

I guess today's accidental discovery saved me 2500?!

Beer, anyone?
