My Ride: Just gone-520d m sport- Jet Black- Dakota Leather black- AluCube interior, On order- F10 520d SE-Titanium Silver

Hi all.

I'm expecting delivery of a tuning box from abrieb for my 2006 520d over the coming days. I've read dozens of positive reports about these and despite some cautionary comments I've yet to read a report of any actual bad negative experiences. It cost me e90on e-bay so I've been wondering if all the promised increases in bhp and torque bringing the 520d closer to 530d territory are just BS.

I'd love to hear any feedback but in particular form 520d drivers who'd installed this or similar equipment.

Did it make a difference?

Yes definitely made a difference. I'm not sure my 520d now puts out the advertised 200bhp but there was a distinctimprovement in drivability. In summary:

[*]Acceleration has also improved noticeably both from a standing start and in gear.[*]Less frequent gear changes required[*]Noticable increase in torque[*]Slight reduction in fuel consumption

So far I'm very happy and have not noticed any adverse effects. Install instructions from ABRIEB were dreadful but it wasn't rocket science.

I think the chip brings your 520d closer to a 525d rather than a 530d
