So I called Wheel Power in Huntington Beach for a quote on the cost for H&R sport springs installed and they gave me $800 as the price tag.... That seems really high for some reason I thought I could get these installed for around $500.. Perhaps someone knows some other shops? oor does that sound right? Also they said they cant really realign my wheels after a lowering? this sounds strange.... I was at EF1 motorsports and they said they install the springs let them set for a week then align them after they set.... didn't ask for there price with install at the time.... Anyways I'm really confused at this point lol

Springs are 260-270 at tirerack. Eurorev will install for 150-200. Alignment is typically 100 with out active steering and 200 with.

Trendix will do spring and install for 400.

The price wheelpower quoted you is with alignment.

Shoot a PM to Hollywoodtrash. A family member of his works there. He can help you out.

He meant that you can never get it perfect. That is a known fact with all alignments. It'll never be perfect like it came out of the factory. But thats even if you don't lower it, and hit a pot hole, the dealer can't make it factory perfect.

Just talk to him again if your confused. It is highly recommended that you get an alignment after install.

To set things straight, hollywoodtrash works at Wheel Power. When you call ask for Chris.

After I got my car lowered, an alignment was done immediately.

I had the same shit pulled on me because they said they had to pull out the backseat and shit. This local place quoted me 800 too i think, I was like are you insane? Call around places that have worked on several E60s and you should pay around 400 installed.

Had this job done on my e39. This is not a small job. The back seats do have to come out to get access to tops of rears internal trims and stuff also need to come out. Fronts are not too difficult.

Word of warning when you drop your car 30mm it throws the alignment and camber out a mile. If its not done on a computer you will be going through rubber quicker than a tyre factory.

I know E39 rear seats have to come off but not E60. Hamman5 did it himself and I dont believe he took the rear seats out from what I remember.

You do not need to take out the back seat. The springs take 50 minutes to install. They need access to your trunk and hood.

The alignment is a tricky issue. There are BMW factory "specs" for alignments (toes, camber) and they come in ranges. The problem is that many aligners believe that the goal is to bring the lowered car back exactly to spec. That is not correct as the configuration and angles are not the same.

It takes a person who does only alignments to truly understand these issues.
