I guess we like the sounds of stock.
Dinan now has a free flow exhaust for the 550i. Once they add a cold air intake, high-flow throttle body, and EMS remapping - the whole package may be worthwhile.

I've been talking to Eisenmann about theirs. I have a 550i. This is what theirs looks like and it's around 2000 Euro, or more including tax.

The right side doesn't look fully functional to me. It appears that they're totally cosmetic, but they tell me sound and gasses come out. I feel as if the right side should have two pipes, each going to each tip, or at least a flange (splitter?) splitting the one pipe into each tip.
Does anyone out there have an Eisenmann Quad system? It seems very well built, good quality materials and they are very good at explaining everything, but I guess I'd have to see and hear one. They're near Stuttgart in Germany, right off A81, if anyone is interested.
Regards.

no one here with a 550i has a exhaust?? come on someone helps me out...thx
You could do some searching or you could re-do the question regarding what you want out of an exhaust upgrade: Sound (how much), performance, quad... It is all a tradeoff.
The quad systems are RDS, Eisenman, Hamann. All expensive and they all give different advantages/disadvantages:
- RDS is the best overall flow, but will probably be loud. I like the exhaust configuration (true dual system), but I was worried about the sound - I did not want a lot of noise while cruising down the freeway. The Eisenman is a nice setup, and the lowest cost for a quad system. I am not crazy about how they do the passenger pipe. The Hamann is similar except the passenger pipe has a resonator on it. I like my Hamann but I would not rule out the Eisenman.
Then there are the single exhaust systems. A lot of threads on those.
Good luck.

Same as a 545i exhaust system. There are about 100 threads on exhaust.

It has dual 3 inch tips and they keep a very good look. Since there are no performance benefits from have a pretend dual exhaust I went with Dinan.

Remus has thier 550i exhaust out, it is on special at http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp it has a deep throaty kind of sound. The exhaust is listed under performance then under exhaust. Jetblack I would love to hear clips of the Dinan.
