297 is a great base number. its about what stock Camaro & Pontiac put down in their hayday. Gto's put about 342-360 but weigh 4,000. The tune or "remap" is what these cars need. The AF doesnt hit 13.3 until high are rpms which means they're protecting the motor by fattening it up. I'm pretty sure if the AF stayed in the 13.4 range all the way through numbers would be better. you wont have much power when your putting 6 and 7 speed autos behind a engine.
I grew up in the muscle car age. Back in the day, the cars just seemed fast. A 14 second car was about the best time most of the muscle cars could put down. I owned a 67 GTO. It was 335 hp at the crank. With the Quadrajet carb sucking air and the exhaust howling at 5,000rpms, it sounded like it was going about to rip thru the sound barrier. All that sound and so little speed -lol. The 550i is a faster car. Plus, it has an added feature. It will STOP.
