I did 3 runs, the last two were fairly consistent. Below are the results:

289.95 - HP
289.28 - TQ

297.45 - HP
299.04 - TQ

297.07 - HP
294.56 - TQ

Attached is the Dyno Sheet, the lines are faint and I hope they show up. If not, I will paraphrase below:

On best run, TQ peaked at about 3,400 rpm and stayed flat through 4,700 rpm - The entire TQ curve is relatively flat.
On best run, HP peaked at about 6,300 rpm

Air/Fuel started at 15 (1,300 rpm) dropped off quickly to 14 (1,700 rpm), then dropped off gradually to about 13.3 (5,700 rpm), then dropped off to 12.2 (6,500 rpm).

Doing the calcs, it shows a 17.38% HP parasitic loss and a 16.93% TQ parasitic loss. I always assumed a 15%-18% loss, so it appears to be in the range.

After the runs, the computer threw a bunch of codes. They all went away after a few stop/start cycles.

I didn't do the dyno to prove a point or compare "Johnsons" with other 550i's, I just did it out of curiosity. Hopefully this info will be useful to others.

ALways good to have a base line.

Too bad you did not have time to put Charcoal Filter back in to test. May not have proved anything, but you never know.

The manual 550i should have about 330 WHP

Wonder what it would be bone stock without Remus exhaust too??? At least you have a nice comparison if you make any further mods!

No. That's only applied to 545i

My E39 M5 had 332whp as a comparison, so I figure my runs were ballpark for a 550i

330 whp is a 8.3% parasitic loss for a 550i. Not that I am being defensive about my numbers, but is totally unreasonable to expect that kind of output.

I saw a dynojet of a steptronic 650i and it showed 310-315 WHP . Maybe it had some mods . If I will find again I will attach it in next reply .
bye!

Here are two Rototests one of a 645iA and one a 550iA. I think you can expect less loss with Rototest since they are dismounting the wheels and attach the measure equipment directly on the car.

Yes, I saw those tests, 315 WHP for the 4.8 steptronic then theorically the manual should be +15 .
