Default 550 Quad Exhaust job!

Hey i know many people have done the quad exhaust on the e60. I am about to do mine. I have a 2008 550 M sport. I have been quoted $1500 for a borla exhaust with eisenmann tips. Was wondering if thats a good deal and if this system sounds good on my car. Thanks!

I'm curious, where are you sourcing the tips?

As for the borla, I have it on my car as a quad set up and it sound really good. Even my picky co-worker that used to be a mechanic got a ride in my car one day and complimented that the car sounds really healthy and not annoyingly loud.

Make sure to keep the up front stock resonators, this will give the exhaust a deeper bass tone. I experimented and removed mine, and the exhaust sounded more hollow leaning towards an American V8, but not that bad. Had to put the resonators back.

As for price, give us a break down of the parts/labor and we might be able to let you know if that's a deal or not, but mine didn't come close to $1500.

I am getting the full system installed for that price. Parts/labour but I ended up picking the m5 performance tips as the other ones won't fit my diffuser. How much did it cost you for everything? Thanks

Mine is a custom setup and I pieced all the parts myself then took it to a muffler shop for the install.

total with parts and labor $1k

I'm sure I'm paying more but I'm going to a very good shop that only does performance tuning and mods. I don't mind paying that much. Hopefully it will sound good. Do you have any videos of your setup? Thanks

Nothing wrong with paying for quality stuff, I do have a thread up when I first installed it. The visual from under the car isn't all that, it looks very normal, but once the car is off the rack and seeing the quad tips from behind is very nice. Then hearing the exhaust when the car is in motion is very pleasant to the ear. I sometimes turn off the music just to listen to the exhaust.

Yes I will pay for quality work and parts any day. It is worth it! And wow looks good! Love the m5 rear bumper. I will do that next once I get tired of my Mtech bumper haha. Will show you the finished job once it's done this week hopefully.
