So my car was at my friend's shop for oil change. The car was on the lift so I was underneath looking at the stock exhaust pipe, trying to find where the connector to the muffles is. It looks like after the catalytic converter, everything is one piece? Which is about from the driver seat all the way to the end is all one piece? Looking at the picture on Dinan's site and RealOEM.com, it doesn't seem that way. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If you look at this diagram from RealOEM, my car seems to have (1) and (2) welded.

 

I had to cut mine to put the Remus catback system on.

 

You're going to have to cut the stock to put in a aftermarket system. If the new exhaust was properly designed, they might even come with a coupler to mate sections 3-2.

 

I had to cut mine to install Magnaflow exhaust on my 530. Rasp FTW!

 

when you cut the exhaust don't forget to wear gloves,eye goggles and a condom.. dont want you to get hurt =]

I am thinking about getting the Dinan exhaust. I assume it comes with the coupler (4) to connect section (1) to (2) in the realoem diagram above?

And of course, I assume the stock one is useless after being cut?
