Hello, I just graduated from UCLA and bought my first car, a 2005 545i. I love it to death--I put almost 1000 miles on it the first weekend I had it--but I would really like to get a dual exhaust for it. I can't seem to find any good leads on how to go about installing such a system. I saw some pictures of a Hamann 545i that had dual exhaust, but I was unable to find prices or other information. if anyone could point me in the right direction, or even offer some other wisdom about neat 545i mods, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Jonathan

Welcome Jonathan, guess what ... your 545 HAS a dual exhaust ! If you don't believe me, put it on ramps and look underneath !
I'm guessing what you mean is a 'cool' looking setup with dual tips on each side.....I don't know why BMW didn't configure it that way to begin with, you can replace the rear portion of the exhaust to get that kind of setup and a 'throatier' sound.

mike/

BTW...you will love that car ! I have had mine for 20K now, and it is by far the most comfortable and fun car to drive that I have ever been in, let alone driven!
Just changed the oil for myself the first time yesterday, now that it is past 50K an the dealer free maint.

Congrats on the car and graduating UCLA! My father and half brother have both graduated as Bruins

As for the dual exhaust, I'm assuming you're referring to a 'quad exhaust' w/ four tips (two on each side)? The search will pull-up a plethora of information so try using it and PM'ing other helpful members with questions. This is what I did and still do. Trust me, this forum is filled with a bunch of REALLY helpful enthusiasts so try asking around. Good luck!
