A friend of mine has a 535d, 2005, which he did not upgrade the wheels on at order, as i did.

Whilst i have 245/35 and 275/30 times 19", he has narrower 18" wheels and tyres.

He wants to upgrade now, which makes sense, because not only does he need 4 new tyres, but 2 of the alloys are badly kerbed.

QUESTION. What are the biggest wheels which will fit?

I suggested he tries a set of 20" wheels, with maybe 245/30 and 285/25.

But would they fit the stock arches?

Thanks for any info.

Are you sure it won't cause any rubbing? I think at that size for sure you'd have to roll your fenders.

Possibly, but I'd stick with the recommended 19" sizes and offsets...

What are those side panels on the white E60 above? They look sharp and I would like to add them to mine. Thanks.

I am waiting for an E61 on which they won't let you upgrade to 19s so I have had to buy them extra. Buying them with the car got me a decent discount so have dealer sourced them, otherwise look here:

http://www.bmwmstyle.co.uk/index2.htm

They sell OE wheels at below dealer prices (German sourced I believe) and most of the decent tuner options. Thought about the M5 19s.

I have gone for OE 172s, wouldn't consider 20s on a working car. I am in N Birmingham/Staffs and have lost too many tyres to potholes over the years.
