Default 535 Tailpipe Tip

Hey guys - I'm looking to add black tailpipe tips to my OEM exhaust (LCI version)and have had lots of difficulty locating them. The vendors I spoke with have nothing.

After some digging around I found that the OEM tip that came with the car has the same part number, per realoem, as the 550 exhaust tip. The 550 had an option for a black chrome tip.

Has anyone purchased this tip? Could one assume it is plug n play? This is the part number 18307839270

thanks!

Thanks Boost7. It does not have to be OEM but I contacted Cyba and a few others and nobody had anything for the E60 535. I did some more digging and found a DIY on how to remove the tailpipes (just use a rubber mallet) and then bring the tips to the wheel shop and have them powdercoat them. I think that is the route I am going to go since I know it's a perfect fit.

Do you know which one from this site would be a match for a stock exhaust (non-sport)? What size?

Lay a towel on the ground to catch the tips when they fall off. Back the tip off the muffler, one at a time, by tapping with a block of wood and hammer. A local power-coating shop did my pair of tips in gloss black for $25.

It was actually quite simple to remove by hand. I have a 2010 e60 so I don't know if it varies by year, but my tips had 5 pressure pushers holding them tight against the pipe (ECS tuning image attached). So all you do is twist and pull a few times and the tip pulls off. No need for any tools, maybe a hand towel on top of the tips so you don't scuff the rear bumper's lip (sport bumper's valence/diffuser's lip). Mine are now at the shop getting powder coated matte black.

Glad to hear they weren't that hard to remove! Definitely keep us posted with how they look on.

Got the tips back today and they came out mint. They were sandblasted and powdercoated. Pics attached - off and on exhaust. I think they should hold up to the heat of the exhaust, but time will tell.
