I'm tossing a few ideas around at the moment regarding duals on my car. I currently have a Dinan but i really wanting the dual look. When I was looking underneath during the current muffler install there seemed to be plenty of space on the left side but the right side seems to be seriously lacking and I recall a black panel under the battery compartment that I would think would be in the way.

I'm just wanting to see how many of you are running duals on your 535 LCI and which system you are using. Also, if you could throw out any pros and cons or if you were to do it over again statements

There is some room to get a pipe through there with a tip for a quad look but thats about it. It can be split off from the original piping on the driver side and looped around between the battery and tire well. To get serious with it I think would require a relocate of the battery to the center of the trunk near/in the spare tire well.

 

+1 need to relocate battery somehow, otherwise too much bending and twisting of the exhaust to make it viable for performance.

 

Thanks for the feedback. This is what I was seeing as well. Is there really that much difference in this area from a 530 pre- LCI or even the 535's?

 

If you have a xi the black lower cover is where the self leveling air pump lives...I am going to do the quad conversion with a Mtech rear but need to relocate this pump before even thinking about routing a pipe through there.

Very interested in John's setup.
But I got a REMUS representative quote

"The 530 L / R system has worked on the more powerful
engines of the 545i / 550i, and thus would also work on the 535i. It is a smaller intake size
by around 3/8? or possibly a ½?. But because our system is ?free flow,? it should still have the
same or less back pressure than your stock silencer, which has ?mechanically induced? back
pressure.
So what that means is, this system would not be optimal for H.P. / efficiency increases,
but for sound and looks it has worked well. I have a local retailer here that has done this
twice to the 545 / 550 series cars, and both times the customers were delighted.
The intakes need to be ?adapted? rather than a simple cut and splice / clamp on. A weld
connection would need to be done."

This really makes me wonder if its worth it with the loss back pressure.
Plus, there are no room for the 2nd muffler. I dunno how John got his muffler on there lol
