newb here, great board. interested in the 530xi - anyone have pics of their 530xi? also, anyone order their 530xi with the Style 89 18 inch wheel or any other 18 inch wheel? Curious to see if the 18 inch wheels will help to decrease the wheel well gap in the 530xi, or whether the car looks slightly raised even with the 18 inch wheels. Thanks.

I'm planning on getting the Style 124 wheels for the 530xit and have the same concern. I think the total diameter of the 245/40 18s (wheel and tire) is actually slightly less that the non sport 225/55 17s that come on the 530xi non sport. What about using 235/45 18s instead of the 245/40s to fill up the wheel well gap with a slightly taller tire? Anyone think there is a problem with that size? Since BMW speedometers always seem to read slightly fast, maybe the taller tire would actually help the accuarcy of the speedometer.

The thread linked below has a 530xi with 19" wheels. I think the gap and wheel combo look great in his pictures.

thanks for the links, but i already saw both threads. IMHO, the 19" look too big for the car, they look like they jut out from the wells, thus, my request for info/pics re: 18 inch rims. the thread with the pics with SP530xi's pics...to be honest, that set up does not do it for me, the rims look too small and the treads too big.

Me local dealer just told me that Style 89's cannot be put on a 530xi, but that Style 124's can, although the 124's that go on a 530xi are different than the ones on the 545.

Still looking for pics of a 530xi with any 18 inch rim. Thanks.

I'd imagine that the width of the rears would be the only difference. The 124 will be identical in appearance to all 124 style rims. I imagine the 525/530 would be equipped with 4 identical rims since the 545i is the only car with the wider rears. That might be what the dealer meant. I love my 123s.

I got the same answer from my dealer when looking for additional 18inch rims. Did your dealer recommend the same rims for front and back, rather than wider ones in the back(which is the normal setup for non xi)?

Check out the link below to my photos of my 2006 530xi with 17" factory rims. The gap is not that bad (can only tell the difference from a 530ix with 17" rims if you really look at it. I would have loved to get the 18" rims (heck I would have loved to get the Sports Package 530i), but winter is coming up in NJ which means snow is coming and driving 18" rims with Runflats is not safe in snow and defeats the purpose of getting an AWD vehicle to get you through the winters.

Maybe when the spring comes up again, I'll get those 18 rims, since I love the look of them.
