Hello all. I was wondering what options are available in the boost department for the 530i? I've been thinking about going with a custom turbo kit but I would also like to know what bolt on kits are available for us...

by the time you get done purchasing the parts, paying for installation you might be better of trading in your car (plus cash) for a M5. but if you had to do one or the other, i would go with the super charger. RPI/ESS has one available depending on the year of your 530

Contact IND in my signature below. Ask for Ryan and tell him Alex sent you.

ESS Supercharger is the BEST way to go, period. I really wouldn't even consider a turbo.

If you want to go forced induction at all you better have a 04-05 model 530, the 06-07 models cannot handle FI. You'll be replacing the engine soon after. Maybe try NOS?

ESS and the other don;t make a kit for the 06-07 (N52) motors, only the 04-05 (M54) motors

Exactly mr. pjinca! GLORY TO THE M54 !!!!!!!!! Exactly why I have an M54 badge on my car because a 2004/05 530i is a totally different animal than a 2006 and up 530i.

You might as well trade it in for a N54 535i...

but even the n54 535i is limited...bolt-ons for the 535 N54 engine are few and far...unlike the 335i N54...335 bolt-ons do not fit on 535 models..

I have an 05. What changes were made to the 06+ that make them less reliable when it comes to Fi if you don't mind me asking?

Engine material changed, got lighter and thinner from what I understand. That's why they don't hold up well to FI.

i have an 04 530i with 100k is the ess kit plug and play? Single turbo route is the price of another car.. i got 2 extra N54's long blocks with turbos. Was considering building one for my 04 530i. If ess will plug and play it ill go that route.

What additional parts do i need or they all in the kit?
