Is there a limit on how many playlist you can see in idrive with ipod intergration, Iadded more than 60 playlists and i can only see 50 in idrive. I have that many playlist becuase i have my music seperated by artists and it loads alot quicker than going into( mp3 2 ) is there any way to work around this. would be nice if u can just add more memory like in a pc : /

You have either hit the bug where any playlist with over a 1000 songs in it will stop displaying playlists after that. Try proving this by renaming them around.

Of you have hit what I think is a new bug that nobody else seems to have reported:

I posted this a couple of days ago: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=40661 I only get to about 28 playlists and it seems related to the number of files total in all playlists, and seems to limit around 9200 songs (though not exactly and appears not tied exactly to a hard limit, sometimes the total is 9100 sometimes 9400).

This is really annoying, I was playing to work around the published BMW limits of 500 songs per directory (I have Non Nav) and 255 directorys (all models) with named playlists so I can play any currently unreachable artists past B!

These two additional problems render the use of even a half full 80GB IPOD fairly compromised and I plan to report this to my dealer.

I have more than 9000 songs in itunes so it might be another limitation of the interface as you mention becuase i have been aware and kept each directory/ playlist less than 500.

Im going to try to take songs out itunes to see if that will do the trick. really sucks since im not even using half of my 80gb . MTRHEAD i also have a non nav e60

I totally agree, absolutely sucks and these bugs would have been easily detectable during testing. I too am only at half full on my 80gb and can't reach anywhere near my full artist list. Should be marketed as a "half an I-pod interface"

I plan to take this up with my dealer, it is not as though this interface is cheap, it cost me more than the I-POD.

Yes, I totally agree!
I've talked with the dealer about updating the interface s/w, but according to them there is no such update available. This is really annoying as a list of artist easily passes over the limit set by BMW. :thumbsdown:
