My Ride: On Order, due in May - 2007MY 530D SE, Silver Grey, Black Dakota, Auto, Brushed aluminium shadowline, sports seats / wheel, hi fi speakers, mats, space saver wheel and a few more bits
I would be interested to know where I can find some detailed figures for 50 - 70, 70 - 100 ie, usable type accelerationfor my E60
Feel intimidated sometimes by faster cars but with 272 Hp & 590Nm of torque, what cars will blow me away? M5 only has 500Nm so in real day to day driving conditions, what will fly past me?
Guess it depends what steptronic gear I am in or DS
Has anyone got a simple guide

I'd have a try at most things 'none-exotic'.
My re-mapped 530d is slightly (and I do mean very slightly) off the pace of a DB7 Vantage with a 6.0 V12 which is supposed to be renowned for it's flexibility and range of delivery from about 30 to more than you ask.
I would avoid 911 turbo's of pretty much any era, lambo's and newer Fezza's (360/430), plus other uber wagon's like the RS6, but would have a laugh with the rally refugee brigade and just be prepared to get smoked if they're heavily tweaked (which I don't think that many in the UK really are). I'd even be prepared to have a play with M power cars too.

Better be careful! Torque isn't always everything - there is a fairly limited rev range on the diesel, hence the (comparatively) low BHP compared to the monster torque. There's a lot out there producing lower torque that accelerates very quickly in the "real world" due largely to their greater RPM ranges, from a standstill or when rolling.
