Hello
Bought a 08 535xi that needs a rear quarter panel. Which years will work for a direct replacement. Will all 5 series fit (525,528,530,etc.) besides wagon or are there subtle or drastic differences?
Thanks

All E60s use the same quarter panel. Be advised that while you can weld in a used outer quarter panel, it goes against BMW recommended procedure. BMW procedure dictates replacement quarter panels should be bonded and riveted in, which is why when you look up the part number you'll see various blind rivets and adhesives listed with the quarter panel.

Hey thanks. I didn't know I could order the rear quarter panel since it is part of the fixed body panels. I looked on the realoem site briefly but thought they didn't carry body parts I will look back into it. That would be good if they do because I was going to either buy the panel from a salvage yard (around 300) or buy a whole wrecked car take that panel out then sell the rest.
I use a Ford body man that does side work so hadn't ask him those questions yet. But he did buy a 06 330xi from me with similar rear damage and after taking the bumper cover off he showed me the rivets he was going to take out around the battery box which is where his damage is confined so I am assuming he would do the same assembly techniques but again I will double check.
Thanks again

Hey thanks while that website was mentioned before I didn't see the body part section until I clicked on your link.

I found exactly what I needed. I don't see where I can order from this site. Is this just a parts look up engine? If so where is a reputable and reasonable place to order from. Pelican parts had an embedded ad on the page and I entered the part # but they wanted almost 200 more for the part than listed on realoem

Yes it is a parts database, nothing more. You're going to pay a crap ton of freight on a quarter panel...if you go new, your nearest dealer is your best bet. For used, try car-part.com

Once you have the part number, try BMW PNPC. It's a program by a forum member that lets you rapidly check and compare prices at dealers and OEM suppliers.
