My sincere apologies if i've offended you. I was unable to find any information on speaker only upgrades, and what i did find was against it. I appreciate your addition to my thread, and learned from it myself. I hope to buy an LCI 535xi in a couple years, and i will use your resources on that car.
I also agree and appreciate how most people here would help another member in real life or otherwise. I love the community BMW drivers have, i am anxious to experience a bimmerfest.
I simply sought to bring slight validation to the infamous speaker only upgrade. I have read since high school that it is not productive, but had try it for myself.

We just disconnected, which happens on forums so no worries. I do like what you did to your car, it is a great way to improve sound in a cost effective manner. I did a similar install in my 05 Wrangler. When my top was off you couldn't hear the tunes, so I spent $100 to replace all five speakers and now it rocks. It may not have all the bells and whistles of the BMW's audio system but it still cranks.
It is intimidating asking questions to people with full-blown out systems, especially on these BMW forums because lots of members follow someone else's lead. Example is how hot the Helix Match PP82DSP is selling. So if you ask someone they could tell you to get that amp or the JL Audio xd600/6 before touching your speakers. So I do get where some of your frustrations derived from.
