I think it is a great investment - if you are running on the highways. Just around town I wouldn't. By the way, I also had the lower rear quarterpanels done, so I have the same protection as mudflaps would provide.

My installer said silver is one of the better colors; when its clean, you really have to look hard to see the film.

I have ventureshield on my silver 550, and it's paid for itself already! I had what looked like a parking lot rub from a white car on my front bumper a few months back, freaking out I bent down to look at it with white paint and scuffs, I hit relief when I realized the ventureshield took the brunt of it and protected the paint!

I just took some wax and a microfiber and rubbed the paint off... Also, you can see where all the rock dings from road crap has hit the ventureshield and not the paint. I'm only bummed I didn't do the complete rear bumper as there are a few spots I know the ventureshield would have protected it. (lower rear side bumper, I think it's from the rear tires kicking up dirt).

Anyway, I did the front bumper, headlights, rearview mirrors, door cups (fingernails scratch the paint everytime you open the door), door sills (so when I swing the door open and if I hit another car), and the top of the rear bumper (when you drag things in and out of the trunk)

btw, in LA I used www.tintfactory.net good guys off of la cienega. They just did my Q7 a few months ago, and a front windshield tint on both cars with the new crystalline tint (50% cut of heat)

My 3M has been on for 3 years. I have a lifetime warranty. The company that did it does all the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati cars in Washington, DC.

UUronL...I live in the Beltway...where did you get your clear bra installed? I want to get a one put on my car, but don't have a lead on a reputable shop in the area. Thanks.

That's the same company I was thinking of going with. What did you pay for product and install?
$900 including tax. Again, this included full front + headlamps, side mirrors, and door trim on 4 doors. This really is a good feature. I have opened the doors into concrete building block (which would normally turn the door edge into a cheese grater) and there wasn't even a mark or rough spot in the film!!!

Just for curious folks, this film was developed for US military helicopters. They put it on the rotors for desert duty - it cuts down dramatically on the wear-effect sand has on them.

They are top-notch. Right down the road from BMW of Sterling, Ferrari of Washington, etc...

I was looking into that since it seems stronger than the 3M one, but from all the pictures I've seen the Venture Shield looks a little "plasticky". Does it look that way in person?
Well you really can't tell that I have one on. I have shown my friends and they can't tell the difference.
