So I got my lights from John, and I tried to be lazy and called a local euro shop and asked how much just for an install...300$ 
I told him to get lost. Guess I will be looking for some DIY threads today!

shops figure if youre calling them you cant get it done by yourself or know how to do it, so they rape you for the most part
very few do the installs by the job and not by the hourly rate these days
