If you want to be real cheap (Like me)....get a trunk sub...maybe a JL Stealthbox if you don't want to lose trunk space...and turn your bass all the way down on your factory speakers. Sounds decent...really loud. Didnt cost me much (I spent about $800 for a badass trunk sub/box/amp)...

Make sure to get a bass control knob if you go this route...because you will NOT be able to control the bass in the trunk via i-drive and it the sound will NOT be proportionate at some volume levels.

So it looks like 2 8"Subs for under the seats; 2 midrange for the doors; and 2 tweeters for the highs. The amp will power the subs I take it or the whole system? Will this render the remaining original speakers (center & rears) useless or are they still powered by the HU?
It also has 2 pairs of crossovers. one for the 8" midbass and one for the midrange and tweeters. You can power them with a nice 4 channel amp. The non-logic 7 does not have a center channel. Keep the stock rears, dont need to upgrade them.

$800 is not cheap and he said he didn't want to add a trunk sub. A sub should never overpower your front stage speakers, if it does its time to upgrade them. My subs only play the super low notes 20-50hz... i let my midbass do the work.

Nelson:

I don't seem the privilege to PM, but how would I get a quote for Jehnert system you recommend. What amp would you suggest I go with; would this replace the stock amp? I have the basic, 10-speaker sound system in my car. I want an improvement in sound quality, not bass you can here for miles.

Thanx!

Nelson,

This definitely sounds like the solution for me. Do I order directly from Jehnart or is there a distributor/shop in the Los Angeles area that you may know of? Thanks again Nelson.

Actually...the bass and highs are proportionate. The only thing is that they aren't perfectly synced because usually adding
a trunk sub is done by tapping a line and therefore offers no control outside a bass control knob (unless you have a ms-8 maybe). I have an $800 dollar trunk sub/stock highs and my sound is painfully loud.

You could produce the same results I'm sure with a cheaper sub and a properly ported box for $500-600. The reason being is that my box isn't ported into the cabin and a lot of the sound is absorbed by the thick rear trunk wall.

You have to order from the US distributor which happens to be a good friend of mines. His name is Don Amann, email is mypearltpi@aol.com . He carries pretty much anything that you will need.

The US MSRP is $999, Send him an email and tell him Nelson sent you and he will hook you up..

Hi,

My email is nepl29@gmail.com or you can contact Don at mypearltpi@aol.com

Regarding the amp question, yes a new amp will be required and it will replaces the OEM.

How much you want to spend on an amp?
