Jashy, I'm also planning on getting my resonators removed. One question, how does your car sound when cruising at highway speed? Any drone?

I just had my resonators removed this morning and replaced with a Y pipe. Gotta say that I love the new aggressive sound of it!

Got it done at local custom muffler shop in Torrance called Sweeney's. They do a lot of custom work for auto restorers. They did a great job for $200.

Sorry for the late response but as you already know, no drone. I am thinking of making it louder, what should I do without buying an exhaust? Anything else i can remove

Not sure what you could do to get it louder without going for the exhaust upgrade. I agree that there's no drone, just a great more aggressive sound!

Get free flowing headers without the cars -- You might gain about 10% to 15% in sound

Today I had the intention on swapping RPI exhausts with my old 530i, but the shop told me that it was not possible since I have 2.5 inch piping on the RPI and 3 inch piping on my stock exhaust. SOOO, I decided why not remove all the resonators, and thats exactly what I did. After 4 hours and $400 later, I opened this beast up on the roads and boy was i impressed. It has such a deep growl but nothing too loud. It was just a couple of notches louder than the stock exhaust but nothing too big. I was expecting something louder but overall, I am extremely happy with my decision.

Let me know if you guys have any questions but the video should speak for itself

Removed: 2 Cylinder Resonators and 1 rectangular resonator

I just love this god damn exhaust of this car. It doesnt have any drone and sounds so cool when you hear it from outside. Its not loud that a cop is going to pull you over at the same time it a decent level of sound that will turn heads.
Guys this video is nothing, its a 100 times better to listen to this exhaust note in person.

The note of the exhaust is just terrific !

Agreed, I've had my new setup on for a while now and I love the way it sounds. Its subdued when you want it to be but aggressive as hell when I punch it. Best money I've ever spent. If anyone in the LA area wants to hear mine just let me know.
