the V8 engines should have less mpg's
the OP has a FI/TT I6 engine, so mp's should be higher than those with 545i/550i's...

I used to be at like 20mpg on the 124's in 18" that was in town highway was much higher,even better than the 530 I'm in now.
If you are in DS a lot,it locks out 6th entirely and opens up 1st....normally the car starts out in 2 and goes to 6th as fast as it can.

Folks, keep in mind that the wheel size has nothing to do with MPG as the wheel+tire diameter is still the same regardless.
What matters is how wide and what type of tire as that is the rolling resistance which impacts economy.

Granted they are not your example 18" and 19" but it should give you the idea that your weight can remain the same even by one inch larger diameter.
Coefficient of friction <- most important. It's the reason all the high MPG cars and bicycles have skinny little tires; cuts down the drag.
Uh, because it's cheap. And in the case of the engine cover it is to reduce noise. Has nothing to do with weight.

depends on tire pressure, wheels weight, traffic lights(if you only travel 2 blocks for 30 minutes, like holiday)
cause low mpg:
low tire pressure
heavy wheels
high speend (130mph)
low speed (10mph in city due to traffic)

Wassup bro. Yeah 18.3 sounds legit, but there is a solution to get a more accurate reading, which you might already know, but I'll state it anyway. On a side note, when I gun the car around I can get in the ball park of 13-15 which is HORRIBLE for a 6 cylinder engine. The great thing about the N54 and turbos is either get GREAT mileage or HORRID mileage. What you can do is hold that button on the stick (where you can scroll thru MPG, and Miles remaining on the tank, and No reading) for a couple seconds when the MPG is showing. It will reset and you can tell from there, otherwise that 18.3 will always stay there. That's what I IMO have experienced...try it out
