Hi everyone im totally new to the 5 Series BMW. I just picked up a 2005 530i which i noticed came without the Xenon projector head lights and non led tail lights. I want to upgrade my lighting. I'm swapping out a set of 2010 head lights and tail lights and i wanted to know if it will be plug and play.

My plan is to: Put my head lights and tail lights in the 2010
Put the 2010 headlights and taillights in my 2005

Please give me all input and what will be nessary for both swaps.
Also whats this LCI i been reading about??

Thanks everyone.

First you spend nearly $2,000 on the OEM headlights. Secondly you spend another $1500 or so for the dealer to run wiring and reprogram your car for LCI.

In other words, its not worth it. LCI is Life Cycle Impulse. Every few years cars upgrade existing models with a LCI to freshen them up.

Rear LCI tails are possible for far less cost.

1) Get your OEM (don't get replica) LCI tails for about $600-1000 (lower end if you're lucky)
2) Go to www.mironics.com and buy the plug-and-play kit from this guy in the UK for $409. Reputable seller.

Plug, play, install, enjoy! (This only works with rear lights)

You're pricing is wrong!!!

I got my lci headlights for $850 and it included everything. the harness is $40. the wiring is easy it just takes time. You will be fool to pay the dealership to installed them, just used them for coding which is 1hr labor at about $150 tops or better yet use ncsexpert and coded yourself.

Regarding buying only the lci tailights, Its $530 from a couple vendors here.

My sentiments are responded by others as well. Due to recent developments, this upgrade is coming down in price. The parts themselves are expensive if you buy brand new from the dealer, but look around, and deals can be had.

Can I ask where you got the lci headlights from?? is that for a pair or each?? I've got a 2005 530i and I think that it's D2S xenons. Does that mean I need to get new ballasts and control units and also new D1S bulbs as the Lci runs on different lights and control units??

Which vendors do the rear lci tails on this forum??

Thanks.

Thanks.
