i bought the adapter at the apple store, it was $21 i think but it charges my ipod too so its well worth it

as far as pictures go take a peek here, its similar to this but instead of "playlists" "genres" it just says cd1 cd2 cd3 etc

i would just call a couple of other dealers in your area, many times they don't know what they're talking about.

When I had my audio aux input installed in my car they charged me about $200, but I remember they quoted my about $400 for the ipod interface (where you see all the info in the big screen). I don't know why they want to charge you 1300

Finally, I have an '06 530i (no CDC, no Nav) and I was always able to play MP3s and see all folders and song descriptions in the main screen. I never had anything updated or added at the dealer regarding that, the car came with it.

Wondering if you or other members could help me out here.
I have an 06' with no CD Changer but my indash does read MP3's.
I just installed the IPod Interface I purchased from member Brad Kane.
I get power, my IPod Touch tells me it is connected, but not charging of course, but nothing is added to my Entertainment screen.
Just FM AM WB and CD, I also looked under CD and it had CD/DVD but I am unable to get the Ipod to be seen or heard.
With your earlier post, you mentioned the SIB to get the CDC to read an MP3 and it should work.
I have an 06' and like I mentioned my indash can read MP3's.
Do you think I have to get it programmed?
Thanks in advance.

So wait, you got your ipod adapter for around $21 at the apple store? Is that a part you got in addition to the OEM Ipod adapter that costs around $250-$300 (like the one listed above) or instead of the OEM part? This is Dave by the way, I checked out your cf hood a few months ago...

Aha. Thanks for clarification. I thought the oem adapter charged as well. Did you ever sell your hood/trunk?
