Was just given a BMW from my older brother. Problem is the transmission broke the next day. We knew it was coming soon. Unfortunately sooner than I thought. Anyways I plan to do a manual swap from the original automatic on it. Seems like the best option is Getrag 420g or zf gs6-37bz. Not sure which one is the better choice and would like some advise. Also cost is a concern too. Which one is cheaper? And what else do I all need in parts to be ready for the swap? My friend who told me about the Getrag pointed me towards "BMW Manual Transmission Conversion Kit - 21212283648KT". Seems like that kit doesn't come with a shifter and also the clutch pedal, where should I get that? Also can I put an M5 shifter on it? Sorry for the many question I'm new to car mods and just don't know where to start. Thanks for any help.
