My Ride: BMW535AD M Edition Touring (E61)
but I have heard that, if I use a burned DVD disc in the DVD slot, the DVD reader in there could get damage.. At least my dealer says

The guy told me while our car was in for service, that another E60 driver, had destroyed his DVD reader, cost for a new 2500 ? !!
But I think is a big lie!! He just want to sell me a new disc....

Take your time, I read that there is a 20 user limit and the speed on the server is no to fast.

It's just a media in a drive, if they're clever then they add protection and e.g. checksum check - you order against your car ID and the software will look for this info, it will require an extra crack, thats it.
The media will not destroy the drive - at least I have never heard of it.
