Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum. I just picked up a 2004 545i. I'm taking my car in Jan. 11th to get my ECU reflashed by Speedinnovations. i'll post the dyno results when it's done.
QUESTION:
Does anyone know where I can get an intake for this car? I have searched EVERYWHERE and no one make it for the 545i. Can you fit a 550 intake on the 545i? Thanks.

Dinan makes a CAI for 545i or you can customize an 550i AFE CAI for the 545i. The only two shops that I'm aware of that has done this customization is Sonic MS in Santa Clara and EuroRev in Inglewood.

What you need to do is dyno before the CAI and ECU tune. To finish it off, I would suggest a free flow cat back exhaust minus all three resonators.

How many HP did you get with your superchip + exhaust?

I never got a baseline dyno before my performance mods. The closest thing to a baseline I have is a highway run with torquey5 with his straight pipe 550i. He walked me by about 1 car length. We never got a chance to do another run with all my mods. I will tell you this I ran down a modded Porsche Cayman S with three people in the 545i. The Cayman owner was a buddy and we did some spirited runs in the middle of the night on the way back from HIN @LA this past summer.

My cousin has a 08 335i coupe stock and he took me by one car length...the thing is that once he gets his chipped he'll WOMP on me...
I will talk to Speedinnovations to see if they'll install a modded 550i intake.
What do you think I'll get?

You've already established a sort of baseline with the run against the 335i. If you're even or passing the next time then you gained some power. Just tell your cousin to hold off on the PROcede for now.

SERIOULSY! O well..
Did you add a sprint booster to your car? Is it worth it with the ECU reflash?
So pretty much what I'll be doing is a custom CAI, ECU reflash, and maybe a sprint booster (if you think its worth it).
Then comes the pretty stuff!!!
