9" = (width of the rim) X 20" diameter of the rim. 245 (the width of the tire in cm/40 is % of the tire's width the tire is high. R20Y is internal tires size and speed classification
#36 11 6 764 863 = BMW part number.. I think..

Am I right?

MM not CM!

245cm would be 2.45m
245mm is 24.5cm

Just a typo I guess...

245cm = 8'04''
245mm = 9.65 inches

It seems the tirehight on an 20" wheel is the same as with a 19" wheel. Isn't the speedo of by a few percent??

I could not see what e60 got lip responded with as I could not see the image posted. So here is my $0.02 worth.

In general each tire size wheel diameter (16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 etc.) has a range of overall diameter heights that overlap each other based on aspect ratio and tread width and vary a little with manufacturer. You generally can see these specs on some of the better tire retailer sites (Tire Rack for one) or the individual mfrs such as Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental, Dunlop, etc. BMW typically recommends staying within a 3% range for performance and speedo calibration, although since most speedos read high by design u could go up (higher tire diameter) that 3% and probably bring you dead on, all other things being equal. This does not account for potential rubbing or other issues.
Sorry of this repeats any info u already received
