I've heard some ppl say they do....is it better/safer to go 19"?

Oh it depends on so many many things, that it's impossible to say yes/no.

depend on your offsets, tires size , and how lower your car is...

No rub on mine... 20x8.5 fronts ET20 with 245/30/20 and 20x10 rears ET20 with 285/25/20.

As stated above, when done with the right combination of wheel offset, tire size and lowered stance.....shouldn't rub, even with a full load.

Btw, my 20" Asanti wheels are for sale and have the perfect offset for the e60! . Click on the link below for details.
