Where are you getting quotes Ross? I need to check my emails but I remember finding a place in Santa Ana that does powdercoating and charges $80 a wheel. I think some 6speeder's and M5board members have tried the place before too.

I tried Mag Masters and Olympic Powdercoating - both quoted me $75-$85 per wheel but said I had to take the wheel apart. I repeated myself to them to make sure. I found this odd since I know Mag Masters has powdercoated a ton of wheels including DPE, HRE, etc.

You're in luck John! 5 of the 7 places I found are all in the 714 area code . Here's a list of ones I found:

-Mag Masters
-Olympic Powdercoating
-Shoreline Motoring
-New Year Metal Finishing
-Specialized Ceramic & Powder Coating

Are you planning on changing up your wheel color?!

See post #26 for reference:

http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/9...angeles-2.html

"You should go to Embee Powdering Coating in Orange County, they charged me $80 per wheel and that included the chemical stripping. So, I paid $320 for all for wheels (20" Techarts). Forget their number, but I think you can google them..."

The price may not include any repairs though.

Alright so I called a third place and these guys even know the model wheel I have. They said they can't powdercoat it (well they said they could but the sides and stuff would/could not be done right). They recommend I paint it and said it looks and holds up just as good. I might have to go this route.

I've read on a number of forums that powder coating wheels actually may compromise the integrity of the wheels due to the use of heat to bake them. This may be more important if you track your car though.

Yea I've been reading that too! I'll call Embee tomorrow and see what they recommend since they're closed.
