My Ride: 2004 BMW 525i with Leon Hardiritt Kloster Wheels 19x9 on Bridgestone Potenza RE-750 (245/35/19) and 19x10 (275/30/19). Premium package with no NAV, no BT, no Xenons.

Hello all! I have a 2004 BMW 525i that came with stock 16? wheels and tires. I?ve gone through some of the wheels/tires problem threads but haven?t read anything that I?ve encountered.

Recently, I bought a set of Leon Hardiritt wheelssome used but great condition after-market 19? wheels and had the local tire shop balance and install brand new Bridgestone Potenza RE750 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 tires.

After I driving off, I noticed the car didn?t ride as smooth as it did with my original OEM wheels. The first thing I noticed was while slowing down and pressing down on the brakes, the car would knock on my right front passenger side wheel area. Then when I made a right turn, it would make the same sound. When I turn left, no sound or knocking can be heard or felt. But when I brake or turn right, the sound and feel is back.

I drove the car on the freeway going 65+ MPH and the car started shaking a bit. Definitely not what I had come to experience with the original wheels 16? wheels.

So I was wondering if anyone else here had experienced anything similar to what I?m describing and perhaps provide some suggestions on what would cause this. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks to you all for a great place to share your experiences and iinvaluable nformation. I vew this site as a great place for many of the questions I?ve had regarding my E60.

Actually i had this same exact problem with my old 97' MB E-Class. THere was both a knocking and clicking sound when i got new wheels and i took it to the tire shop, they said that one of my lugnuts were too long. Then he fixed the knocking sound by adding spacers. Everything was fine after that. Ask for spacers and have them check the lugnut lengths make sure they are not too long.

Nice wheels. Do you have side view pics you can post? What size are the front and rear wheels?

Just a thought, are the offeset correct on the wheels? If not may be try hubcentric rings that you can purchase at tirerack.com for $4.00 each? Keep us posted!

Thank you to all for the suggestions. I plan on taking it back to the tire store where I had the wheels/tires balanced and mounted.

As requested, here's a side view along with a rear view pic. Btw, the front wheels are 9x19 with 2 1/2" lip on 245/35/19 tires. The back wheels are 10/19 with 3 1/2" lip on 275/30/19 tires.

Thanks again and I'll be sure to post a follow-up.

Any signs of rubbing on the inner guard? The shaking may be due to the rims not being the correct hub centric size 1mm can make a hell of a difference
