I have Conti2 sport on OEM 172 rims and the rear tires are completely done while the front ones seem to have at least a full season left. I would like to get General UHPs to replace the rears. Can I leave the Continentals in the front without significantly compromising ride quality or performance? I know its good to replace all four but given the $$ savings Id like to know if its worth buying just two or will the ride suffer.
I only drive on the 172s in the summer, have winter wheels (attached to a completely different winter car )
Cheers
btw saving money on tires is going towards a breyton front lip spoiler

no problem with just replacing the rears, the rears will always wear much faster than the front

So no issues having Contis in the front and General (directional) in the back?
Might want to consider similar types as well, all-season vs. summer.

No, if you have to mix, that's the approach I would take.
