My Ride: E60 545i
E46 323i
I do not have a sport package.
But I do have 6-speed manual gearbox, and a car with 6-speed manual comes with 18-inch wheels. Apparently not very many people in US order 545 with manual, and probably it is why the factory put wrong wheels.

I think not, in the US for 2004 when ordering the 6sp manual one needed to get the ZSP sport package (mandatory)
for 2005 you can order the 545i with a 6spd manual but ZSP is not required
Hence you get the 17 inch styling 116's when ZSP is not ordered
for 2005 you can order the 545i with a 6spd manual but ZSP is not required

Probably a better salesman than a BMW enthusiast who knows the product he/she is hawking!
