You know what I just realized? The offset of the rear 167s are different than 166s. I had always assumed them to be the same ET:28. 167s have a rear offset of ET:17 whereas 166s rear offset is ET:28. Based on this, I don't think that 12mm for 167s would work b/c it would cause the tires to rub against the fender liner. This is probably why brian1225 had to roll his fenders to accommodate the 12mm with his 167s.

I'm no expert about offsets but here is what I think. Using the front wheels as a baseline, both 167 and 166s are identical (8.5 x 19 ET:12), it is what we are striving for since no spacers are needed for the front to be flushed with the fender.
The rear 166 have ET:28 offset which pushes the wheels inside. To bring the wheels back outside, you can use 10, 12, or 15mm. Here is the math: 28 - 10mm = ET:18, still a bit inside. 28 - 12mm = ET:16, okay. 28 - 15mm = ET:13, borderline. The 15mm spacers are the closest to matching the front 166 ET:12 offset. But, then you have to consider the width of the tire. 245/35/19 work fine with the ET:12 offset. 275/30/19 will cause rubbing issues with 15mm spacers, I believe.
Now, the rear 167 have ET:17 offset which is close to the front 167 ET:12. If you were to add 10mm, 17 - 10mm = ET:7. This combined with either 275 or 285 will cause some rubbing. 5mm spacers might be the way to go.
Please, anybody with knowledge of offset set me straight if I'm wrong, which I probably am.
