166 vs 167 opinion

I bought the 166 rims, and then bought m5 spec avon a/s tires on tire rack. They do rub but only up front, and only on turn in. Like if I'm pulling into a parking lot with a good bit of lock on the wheel, the right front esp, will rub into the front wheelwell, I never seem to notice it on the left side which has me wondering if I've got some parts mis-aligned up front.
I've read on this board that it's known m5 size tires w/166 will rub the e60. so I'll be in the market for new tires myself soon.

It will rub only by the tire sizes. M5 use a higher tire diameter (27" vs 25,7"). Every M5/M6 wheel will fit without any problem on a E60 with the tire sizes for our car. And the M5 wheels need spacers for the rear. I'm only talking about OEM wheels. There are a bunch of replicas with different sizes, width and et.

But you will face rubbing issues with the M5 sizes because the M5 has wider fenders.

The 245/35-19 and 275/30-19 is a option on the E60 since this model came out. This size with the oem M5/M6 wheels will fit without any problem on any regular E60 (from 04 E60 520 to 08 E60 550).
The 255/40-19 and 285/35-19 will only fit on the M5.
