Thumbs up

I have the 135m rims and i was wondering if there is a possibility to get 2 pices for the back that are a bit wider like 9" wide. The purpose is to put wider tires on th back but because the rims are 8" all around it's quite impossible.

I like the design very much...almost the best design besides the 166 rims. (Those are my personal tastes).

Getting 19" rims is another possibility but then i would make compromises because the roads here are quite bad and with so much lower profile and bigger rim there is a VERY high chance to damage the rim, not to mention the tire.

I know that 135M rims come in 8" width but the reason i'm asking this is because i've seen other forum members with different styles but in other size combinations. (like style 32 in 19" and so on...) so is there a way to get the 135M in bigger width (more than 8")?

Thanx alot!

In the UK the 330d/i coupe comes with a version of the 135 style wheel that looks identical. I'm told its different but it looks the same wheel to me. These look wider than the ones fitted to the E60 although they only have slightly bigger tyres, 255's instead of 245's, so my guess is they are a wider rim. Still an 18 wheel with 5 studs so should fit but don't know about the offset.

Edit - Checked BMW's web site and they're called 135's same as E60's.

Here's a pic I scanned and hope this helps: -

Realoem is your friend... RealOEM

The 3-series wheels are available in 8" (ET47) and 8.5" (ET50), See here E46-135

The 5-series wheels are 8" only (ET20), See here E90-135

So they look the same, but quite different!

I can't remember which way round it is but you may be able to get the 3-series 8.5" wheels and add spacers to change the offset. (I think the 3-series wheels with 30mm spacers - but that's a lot of 'spacing'!)

Top site that... Just spotted a typo - I meant E60 not E90 (New 3 series)

Yeah, I asked my dealer about getting width wheels back instead of 245 but that was not possible.

So it's not possible!?

Ok so i have another question:

for the e60 the 135M are 8" (ET20)
the wheels i'm interested 8.5" (ET50)

so suppose it can be done...i have to correct the difference in ET by adding 30mm spacers? This is the only thing that has to be done?

So...tell me if i got it right...you have to correct the offset from the bigger offset (50) by adding the difference in spacers (30) right? So that things will stay the same...

The offset is the difference from the centre of the wheel rim to the where it mounts. Look here for a Diagram

The ET50 wheels would be inset by 30mm so would need spacers to bring them back out. However, to me 30mm sounds way too much for spacers... I thought 10mm would be about the maximum.

Bettermakeway, I have been thinking about the same thing, love my 135s but they badly need to be wider with 275 tyres on the back especially so with the 535d. 245s simply cant put all that torque down especially on poorly surfaced roads. My rear pads are wearing a lot quicker than the front and the constantly flashing DTC light is burning a hole in my retina. I reckon that even if spacers work to correct the offset the 8.5 wheel is still not wide enough for a 275 tyre. There might be 135 replicas that are 9" but they have to be good quality ones and I am not sure if such exist!

Ok, thank you so much guys...i'll better start looking for some 19" rims. Now is there a difference on the mounting possibilities (for 19s) between a car that is standard and one with the M kit? (due to the lowering and stuff....?)

I suspect the best sizes are 245/35 and 275/30? What about 245/40 and 275/35? or 285/30?
