Here is a shot of the xi style 124 wheels.

A related matter is the tire size. I've notice a difference in the ride quality between the original 225/50-17s and the 245/40-18s. If I had it to do over, I would go with 235/45-18s on the new wheels which I think would give a better ride and also fill out the wheel well a little better. The original tires were Goodyear Eagle RS-A, and the Tire Rack lists that tire in the 235/45-18 size.

just be careful there are a lot of replica rims on Ebay. Make sure you check with the seller before bidding.

Can you help me understand the benefit of having a staggered configuration? Is it totally aesthetics or are there different ride/handling characteristics?

My ordered car is a 530i with the Sport package and the standard 123 rims (I assume I have 245/40/18 all the way around, right?)

I want to go with the 124 rims...should I get all 4 of the same configuration or get the 18x9 in the rear?
Any insight/thought/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I belive it is only the XI sports package that comes with non-staggered. Normally with sport packages on the 5s the you get a wider rim and tire for the rear.

Does anyone know why - speculate why? BMW went same all round for XI rather than wider at back for the sport package? Does it have something to do with the performance/ handling experience with 4wd verus rwd?
