Armen,

Just my opinion, but if you are a "stock car" person as you say, you probably don't want the RPI. I put the RPI on my 2008 550i and the drone was terrible, particularly in the 1500-2100 rpm range. I love the look of the RPI and didn't want to change it back to stock, so I ended up putting a Moroso Spiral flow muffler in line upstream from the RPI to calm down the drone and quiet it down a bit. It still drones a little, but no where near what it did, and now it is very bearable and sounds great! Lots of different opinions out there....thats mine.

Best of luck!

Thanks JP
Many people say that the RPI drones at low rpm, this is what scares me
I want my exhaust to shout when I push the envelop. To hear the droning when I'm cruising, I don't think I'd like it
I've heard that the RPI was droning at the beginning but that then, little by little, it was calming down and was barely noticeable at low rpm

If you are worried about the rasp of an RPI exhaust (which I also have heard it has), you can always install an aftermarket resonator on it to tone it down.

After the break in period, it changes as well, so need to take that into consideration.

Could you please tell me what is the break in period ?

You mean that after over kilometers, the exhaust is getting quieter and quieter ?

Sorry for the thread bumping, I didn't know it !

That could be a solution as well, concerning the aftermarket resonator
