You could always change out your diffuser and add 2 "dummy" tips to the right side. That way you don't have to worry about change in performance ... back pressure, etc. Wouldn't affect warranty. If installed correctly, wouldn't know they are dummy tips unless crawl under car.

What does it matter...the Dinan exhaust on the E46 M3 changes the exhaust from a true 4 tip exhaust to a 2 tip exhaust with the other 2 dummies. You said you like the look of quads and were concerned about the possible pitfalls about changing your stock setup. This is just a possible alternative setup

i do indeed love the look of quads, but not at the risk of having to put a set of "dummies".

If you know of a true and functional quad exhaust, I would like to know because I would like to change my stock exhaust on my '08 550 as well to a quad. I went to a tuner today and they didn't know of one that was currently compatible. Remus has a quad but it says not compatible with I6TT or V8. Do you know if an M5 exhaust (back half) can be used?

who's UR? if they're reliable, be the test car - it's only an intake. nothing permanent.

ya, that AE exhaust sounds good on the 335i. why don't you offer your car for them to test fit?

yep that's how exhausts supposed to sound when done right. i'll shoot Nick @ AE and see what he says about getting my car to test fit. Last time we spoke he said they're busy developing the exhaust for the M3 and 135i. The 535i is their last priority. Maybe if i offer my car then it might help speed the process.
go for it, it's worth a shot! let me know what he says.
