recently got my mtech installed and now i'm considering a quad exhaust set up. i currently have single magnaflow #14862 w/dual tips. sounds good, but i've always loved the look of quad exhausts.
my main two concerns are...
if and when i decide, i plan to pay Pepe a visit at AAA muffler. then what to do about a diffuser..........damn, it never ends does it?!?!
my main two concerns are...
- How it will sound? With an I6, i do not want to sound ricey. i want to maintain an agressive, but yet "bareable" tune. for those of you have a quad set up, pls post your sounds clips and tell me about your set up.
- Performance. i do not want to sacrifice any performance due to lack of back pressure by getting quads.

It has quads for I6 and V8. A couple of turbos won't make a sound difference.
As for exhaust, you "DO NOT" want backpressure or high velocity in your exhaust system. Turbo engine do not need the scavenging effect when the pistons are up high. Straight throughs and mandrel bents on your custom exhaust is what you want for optimum exhaust flow. Do not equate "turbo" mufflers with turbo engine. I repeat, do not equate "turbo" mufflers with turbo engines.

i'm on the same boat as you John. Another forum you might want to check out is e90post.com. click on the turbo section and you will find numerous posts of mufflers for our N54 TT. This is what i'm considering if someone can custom fit it in our cars:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126416
and some http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.p...e+racing+intake
UR is fit testing their intake for the 535 and should be available anytime soon.
The thing is i'm not sure if i want to be the guinea pig!

This is exactly correct and should be emphasized.
The AE i suggested is straight pipes and mandrel bent. What you guys think? Contacted AE and they said that 535i exhaust are in the works.

John - I'll buy your rear bumper if you choose to swap it for a quad.
