One last look:
Now it is time to strip the car down. If you want to remove the lines that run against the firewall you will have two choices: either A) remove coolant and a/c lines, or cut them out. I am struggling with this myself. Would like to go back to stock if need be? But the time..... Looks like they are $60 for the two lines but do not look pre-bent. I may just cut them with a brake line cutter. Then I can flare them and patch them together if need be. BMW uses so many unions, what are a few more....
Car ripped apart.....
Draining the fluid:
Separating the wire harness while the fluid drains:
Once the system was drained I test fit one of the lines.....success!
Now it is time to flush the rears. This does not happen at the rear calipers. flush at unions for rear lines.
One end installed while flushing the line from the DSC.
Time to work on the fronts. Remove union, both lines will be used.
Here is all the ends prepped and patch lines installed. Lines were traced back to the DSC and labelled.
After all lines are labelled on both ends, it is time to remove the DSC.
Prepping the DSC with new fittings.
Installed:
I used the original bolt but found some washers and made it work:
Time to work on the brake booster:
M12x1.0 / -4an installed. This is where the 26" -4an line will attach:
M12x1.0 / -6an installed. The -6an line hooks up to the black fittings.
Lines installed:
Kind of a rats nest, but everything connects....
Passenger Front Patch line. I used a (M10x1.0 male / -3an male to the -3an line) and the factory clip still worked. This is going to connect to one of the brake lines that already runs across the firewall that went from the DSC to the rear brake
Better shot:
A quick shot: only two more lines to remove.
About to get started on soldering and finishing the install.

Today was more about prep work for the wire harness and cleaning up a few other things while I have a chance. I may reroute part of the wire harness on the passenger side and have a new location for boost solenoids.
First I flipped the clip so the wires come out the other side.
Label prep work
Duplicates labelled on both sides of the cut.
Wire harness cut. I cut all wires individually to prevent a possible short even thought the power is discharged.
Wire harness prep station:
Practicing, it's been a while.
Tomorrow I will go get the rest of the wire I need to make the harness. I will also be working on a few projects simultaneously as I put the car back together.

Thinking of reconfiguring to remove the large 1" hose. I am going to fit a 3/4 vibrant hose on the end of the heater element and use a 3/4 black elbow.
dissembled
On but not by much
eh...
This will do...

One end of the harness is finished...
Other end of the harness separated and and rerouted....
Cutting and pulling the boost solenoid wires back into the DME box.
Cut and pulled out... *do one at a time*

I took the old plastic hard lines that used to run over the valve cover and made vacuum ports that passed through the rubber boots. Pictures in 5..4..3..2..
Boost solenoid clips reconnected...
boost solenoid clips installed...
Vacuum ports for the DME box... You need 2...
The vacuum lines will run behind all the heat protection and will re-enter the engine bay through where the old brakes lines used to be. I may be mounting the vacuum canister by the brake booster to get it out of the way so this could see a revision.
Here are the vacuum lines installed and coming back out to the engine bay.

A shot before it gets sealed back up....
Starting to look factory again!
No more boost solenoids!
All mounted and secured, starting to put a loom on the new harness..
Factory seal/drain back in place..its a tight fit.
Continuing to wrap.
