My car just got an error message saying that my rear brake pads has worn to the minimum amount and need to be replaced and i was wondering what are the cheaper options of brake pads other than things like brembo brakes

Welcome to the Forum! A lot of forum members have used Hawk HPS Pads with great success as well few other brands. I'm sure they will chime in shortly. We have a few forum sponsors that are highly recommended and am sure they will be able to assist you with your brake inquiry. I would recommend Trinity Autosport and Acute Performance. Great service, great prices and both very knowledgeable. Good luck and welcome aboard.

If you're a DIY'er, then online sources such as Bavarian Autosport and ECS Tuning might be options. Also, now that you're received the rear brake error message, I believe you now have to replace the rear brake pad wear sensor (located at right rear brake assembly?).

Unless you want pads that produce less brake dust why not just stay with the OEM pads? I imagine there can't be that much of a price difference.

I saw the rear brake pads and a new rear sensor for $130 at Bavarian Autosport.
$370 (= $500 total - $130 parts) does seem like a lot for labor for a rear brake job. However, the money to pay for labor, benefits, tool amortization, capital improvements (lifts, compressor, etc.), shop supplies, rent, utilities, maintenance, insurance, warranty liability, taxes, investor ROI, and other operating expenses has to come from somewhere.
Perhaps $400 including fees and taxes is a better price for the job? Another option might be to try finding a dealer or mechanic that offers a military discount.
