Default 06 530i Front Shocks

So went to the stealer to do an oil change with a coupon and they did a multi point inspection along with it. Apparently my front right suspension in bad. The inside of my tire has flat spots like very 3 inches. So I need a new strut. I asked the parts dept. how much is a shock for a 06 530i with sport package. I asked him to repeat the price when he told me. He said , "$456.89" for one shock. I was totally amazed... What would you guys recommend for a replacement? Koni, Bilstein, etc. ??? Anyone with hookups too?

Lol your at the dealership don't ever be surprised by any of their prices , I personally have had koni on my old E39 540i and was more then pleased. I was able to adjust the settings on the shock.

Thanks for the info...
I think the shock that is need is : KONI part number: Manufacturer Part #: 8741-1476SPORT

How would this rate/work with stock shocks in the back. Would i need to replace all 4?

Also how would i adjust the shocks to match what the stock suspension has now? As far as stiffness/softness?

Thanks.

What I did was replaced only the front two, I left the rear's alone. From what I can remember I think there was a knob on top for adjustment. It was something along the lines of

Clockwise = Softer
Counter Clockwise = Firmer

from what I can remember this was 4-5yrs ago.

I wouldn't change just one shock. I would at least replace both front shocks. Also I would replace both front tires and get an alignment.
